Helping Haiti
With estimates that as many as 3 million people in Haiti have been affected by the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010, the loss is astounding. Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive announced on Monday that over 70,000 bodies have been buried in mass graves and Haitian Interior Minister Paul Antoine Bien-Aime estimates that between 100,000 and 200,000 people have died as a result of the disaster.
United Ways across the country and around the world are rallying to assist the people in Haita respond. If you would like to donate to help the people affected by the earthquake you can visit United Way Worldwide disaster fund at https://volunteer.united-e-way.org/uwwwdisasster/donate/

As part of a two-year demonstration project, the United Way of Greater Simcoe County was selected as the Community Entity (CE) for the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) Outreach Communities component in Ontario.
