Call for Nominations
Board of Directors - United Way Greater Simcoe County
United Way Greater Simcoe County is inviting nominations of leaders in our community for appointment to its Board of Directors.
Just in the process of finalizing its latest strategic plan, the Board is seeking strong community leaders with diverse backgrounds to reflect the demographics of our service area, and who are committed to strengthening our community through the mission of United Way.
Our Chair, Mark Aitken (CAO – County of Simcoe) and 1st Vice-Chair John Pugsley (Program Manager, Ontario Trillium Foundation) are committed to ensuring the Board continues to attract the talent necessary to provide strategic direction to the movement, to ensure necessary resources are in place to support this direction, and to provide effective oversight and enthusiasm.
We are working to ensure we have members who represent our key stakeholder groups; specifically, representation from the corporate sector, government sector and, of course, the non-profit and community sectors. The term of the appointment is three years, and may be renewable for a second three-year term. The Board meets 10 times per year on the second Tuesday of the month for approximately three hours. There is also some committee work required, as well as attendance at the Annual General Meeting, which is typically held during an evening in June each year.
Successful nominees must be 18 years of age and either reside or work in Greater Simcoe County.
Letters of nomination, including a biography or résumé in an envelope marked Confidential, can be forwarded to:
