Board Member Recruitment
Call for Nominations
to the Board of Directors of
United Way of Greater Simcoe County
The United Way of Greater Simcoe County is inviting
nominations of leaders in our community for appointment to its
Board of Directors. Having just completed its three-year strategic
plan, the Board is seeking out strong leaders with diverse
backgrounds to reflect the demographics of our service area
and who are committed to strengthening our community
through United Way.
Our Chair, Joanne McPhail (Partner – Burgar Rowe) and Vice-
Chair John Pugsley (Program Manager, Ontario Trillium Foundation)
are committed to ensuring that the Board continues to
attract the talent necessary to provide strategic direction to the
movement, ensure necessary resources are in place to support
this direction, and to provide effective oversight and enthusiasm.
We are working to ensure we have members who represent
our key stakeholder groups; specifically, representation from
the corporate sector, government sector and of course the
non-profit and community sectors.
The term of the appointment is three years, and may be
renewable for a second three-year term.
The Board meets 10 times per year on the last Tuesday
of the month for approximately 3 hours. There is also
some committee work required and as well as the
Annual General Meeting held in June of each year.
You must be 18 years of age and either residing or
working in the Greater Simcoe County area.
Please forward your letter of nomination, including a
biography or resume in an envelope marked
“Confidential” to:
